According to the agency, the woman was shot after she attempted to use her vehicle as a weapon, trying to run over the agents. ICE characterized the incident as an "act of domestic terrorism," claiming that the officer acted in self-defense.
A large number of witnesses gathered at the scene, condemning the actions of ICE officers, calling it murder and urging them to leave the state.
Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey, in turn, criticized the official position, calling it "nonsense" and described what happened as "reckless use of force."
According to CBS, about two thousand ICE officers were previously sent to Minneapolis, where they arrested more than 150 people on charges related to fraud in government programs. ICE's activity in the region has increased in recent weeks.
It is worth noting that since the beginning of Donald Trump's second term, the country has continued a policy of mass deportations of illegal immigrants.
