According to information provided by the Patrol Police Department, one of the officers, while in uniform and after completing his shift, was shopping in a supermarket. A conflict arose in the sales area between several men, during which sharp objects such as scissors and a glass bottle were used.
“When the patrol officer attempted to stop the fight and called for order, the participants reacted aggressively, using physical force. A patrol crew was called to the scene. The officers' attempts to resolve the situation were unsuccessful: one of the men struck junior sergeant A. Amanbekov, after which the aggression shifted to junior lieutenant Nadir Jusupov,” the department's statement noted.
The department emphasized that the officers used physical force solely for self-defense.
All participants in the conflict were detained and handed over to the investigative operational group of the Lenin District Department of Internal Affairs of Bishkek for further investigation.
