The Philippine Department of Tourism welcomes a charter flight from Mongolia.

The Philippines is opening a limited route to enter the Mongolian market.

The Philippine Department of Tourism expressed joy over the new direct flight, which has opened access to the Central Asian market.

The Hunnu Air charter flight landed at Terminal 1 of Ninoy Aquino International Airport at 7:20 AM on December 26, carrying 126 passengers, most of whom were citizens of Mongolia.

This flight became the first direct connection between the two countries, offering a faster solution compared to traditional routes that require transit through third countries.

The initiative was launched amid the winter season in Mongolia, when many residents of the country seek warmer places for vacation.

Without direct flights, Mongolian tourists often face long journeys and additional visa formalities for transit, making the Philippines less attractive compared to neighboring destinations.

Tourism Minister Kristina Garcia Frasco
Kristina Garcia Frasco, the Secretary of Tourism, noted that the launch of the charter flight is part of the government strategy to expand inbound tourism and improve international air connections to stimulate the tourism sector.

Organizing the flight required coordination among various government agencies and partners in the tourism business to ensure a comfortable journey.
