A Dangerous Virus Discovered in the Emirates

The Department of Tourism under the Ministry of Culture, Information, and Tourism of the Kyrgyz Republic warns citizens of Kyrgyzstan traveling to the United Arab Emirates and countries where cases of infection have been reported about the spread of the MERS virus and recommends obtaining necessary information on infection prevention from the relevant authorities in the Kyrgyz Republic.

In the United Arab Emirates (UAE), two people have died from the effects of the MERS coronavirus over the past few months – a 64-year-old UAE citizen and an emergency doctor from the Philippines. Since the beginning of 2014, the virus has been diagnosed in about 40 people in the UAE.
The Department of Tourism warns citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic traveling to the UAE and countries where cases of infection have been reported about the spread of the MERS virus and recommends obtaining necessary information on infection prevention from the relevant authorities in the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as avoiding contact with camels and visits to safaris.
