Mass protests against the actions of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) have swept several cities in the U.S. In Los Angeles, a rally took place on January 30 under the slogan "ICE Out," where participants demanded an end to the presence of federal immigration agents in residential neighborhoods. This incident was covered by ABC7.

Organizers announced a nationwide strike, including a refusal to work, study, and shop. In light of these events, the police declared a citywide tactical alert, urging officers to remain at their posts. Later, law enforcement began dispersing the demonstrators, using tear gas.

According to CBS, citing the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, on January 7 in Minneapolis, an ICE officer shot a 37-year-old woman, which sparked mass protests in the city. Fox News also reported on another incident involving a border agent that led to a person's death.

In Minneapolis, around 100,000 people participated in the protests. On January 12, protesters also gathered outside Trump Tower in New York City.

As reported by The New York Times on January 30, ICE has expanded the powers of its officers, allowing them to make arrests without a prior warrant. Previously, such measures were only applied if the agent feared that the suspect might flee from justice.
