Two agents who shot nurse Alex Pretti in Minneapolis have been suspended

In connection with the incident that occurred during an immigration raid on January 24, the agency has prepared a report for Congress, NBC News and Reuters report. This report contains preliminary findings of an internal investigation into the events surrounding Pretti's death.

It should be noted that the results of the report contradict statements made by representatives of President Donald Trump's administration, particularly by Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen, who claimed that the nurse allegedly attacked the agents with a weapon. However, the document does not contain such information.

According to the report, the agents demanded that Pretti and his companion leave the scene, to which he responded with refusal. As a result, they used pepper spray and attempted to detain the nurse, leading to a physical struggle. The agents opened fire shortly after one of them shouted, "He has a gun!" The document does not specify who exactly fired the shot that resulted in Pretti's death.

Federal immigration services have faced harsh criticism in light of the tightening immigration policy and the actions of their employees.

In the past month, in Minneapolis, agents from these services have shot two people: 37-year-old Rene Good and Alex Pretti. These incidents have sparked a wave of protests across the country.

After Pretti's death, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, which oversees immigration services, stated that the nurse threatened the agents with a gun. He did indeed have a weapon; however, social media users and journalists who reviewed video footage of the events claim that at the moment of the conflict, he was holding only a mobile phone.
