On January 9, the publication Alpha News and the CNN channel released a video recording capturing the moment preceding the shooting that ended in tragedy. The deceased was 37-year-old Rene Nicole Good.

According to information, the video was filmed by ICE agent Jonathan Ross, who opened fire. A representative of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security confirmed that the recording was indeed made by the agent himself.

The video, which lasts less than a minute, shows Ross standing in front of Good's maroon SUV, which was blocking the road. The agent walks around the vehicle and photographs the license plates while Good tells him, "I'm not mad at you."

The video also shows the deceased's spouse, Becca Good, who asks the agent to show his face, claiming that the car's number won't disappear if he wants to contact them later. When she tries to return to the car, she finds that the door is locked.

Then another officer approaches the vehicle and demands that Good exit it. The woman begins to move backward, then suddenly turns away from the officer and starts moving forward. At that moment, Ross's shouts can be heard, followed by gunshots. The camera rises, and it is unclear whether the vehicle hit the agent. According to CNN, there is another video taken by a witness showing that the SUV may have slightly brushed against Ross, after which he bounced to the side. At the end of the recording, the sound of Good's car colliding with another vehicle can be heard.

Rene Good was an active participant in the so-called neighborhood patrol—a volunteer group monitoring the actions of ICE agents. The incident occurred against the backdrop of a large-scale operation in which about two thousand agents were sent to Minneapolis, which the Department of Homeland Security called the largest event in its history.

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz criticized this operation, describing it as "reckless governance in the spirit of a reality show."

Following the tragic death of Rene Good, mass protests against the actions of the immigration service began in Minneapolis and other cities across the U.S. Experts and human rights advocates emphasize the need for a thorough investigation, pointing out that the agent's actions may have led to a situation where the use of firearms became justified.
