According to official data, the incident took place in the afternoon. Soldier A. A. N., born in 2007, was serving his mandatory military service in the fifth security battalion while on duty in the village of Bai-Munduz. For reasons yet to be determined, he shot himself with his service weapon.
The Deputy Chairman of the State Penitentiary Service and the Head of the Department of Security and Convoying, Kurmanbek Sokeev, as well as representatives from the Bazar-Korgon District Police Department and the Military Prosecutor's Office of the Jalal-Abad garrison, arrived at the scene.
An investigation is currently underway.
