“However, it was established that the supplied fish had an inflated cost. In October 2025, the chairman of GSIN instructed the internal audit department to conduct an inspection, as a result of which damage amounting to 15 million 900 thousand soms was identified. The Main Directorate for Internal Investigations was tasked with conducting an additional investigation, based on which the necessary materials were collected,” noted the GSIN.
It was also added that all collected materials were submitted to the prosecutor's office in November for legal assessment, and currently, the supervisory authority is conducting investigative actions.
GSIN emphasized that the management regularly initiates such checks.
Earlier, the General Prosecutor's Office reported that during the current year, officials of GSIN were purchasing frozen fish at inflated prices, which led to material damage to the state amounting to 15.9 million soms. According to the prosecutor's information, a criminal case has been initiated on this matter under Article 337 "Abuse of Official Position" of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
