Askhat has no disciplinary penalties and has received rewards from the State Penitentiary Service
Human rights activist Gulshaiyr Abdirasulova reported on social media that Askhat Zhetigen has no disciplinary penalties and has received three rewards from the State Penitentiary Service (GSIN).
She noted that she was disappointed when the possibility for settlement colonies was removed from the Criminal Executive Code.
“Askhat Zhetigen had the opportunity to submit a petition for a change in the conditions of his detention and to transfer to a settlement colony. I hoped that I could achieve his conditional early release. However, the GSIN responded that Askhat is not entitled to this release,” the human rights activist wrote.
According to the lawyer, the inmate is characterized positively, but under Article 327 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, concerning "calls for the seizure of power," conditional early release is not provided.
Recall that in 2024, Askhat Zhetigen was found guilty of public calls for the violent seizure of power and received a prison sentence.
