The Bishkek City Court confirmed the decision previously made by the Pervomaisky District Court regarding Zhoomart Karabaev. Human rights activist Gulshaiyr Abdirasulova reported that the sentence remains in effect, and Karabaev was sentenced to three years of probation.

It is worth reminding that on July 3, 2024, Karabaev was arrested on charges under Articles 278 "Mass Riots" and 327 "Public Calls for Violent Seizure of Power" of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. His lawyers claim that the criminal case against him arose due to his active statements on social media and public speeches, where he stated that the National Academy of Sciences of Kyrgyzstan issues expert opinions under pressure from the security services. This concerned cases involving politicians, activists, and journalists. On May 27 of this year, the Pervomaisky District Court found him guilty and sentenced him to three years of probation.
