A session was held at the Bishkek City Court, where it was decided to uphold the sentence issued to Joomart Karabaev, a former employee of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic. This was reported by human rights activist Gulshaiyr Abdirasulova on her social media.
“The BGC confirmed the sentence for Joomart,” she noted.
It should be reminded that the Pervomaisky District Court of Bishkek sentenced Karabaev to three years of probation for his calls for mass riots and disobedience to authorities.
Karabaev's lawyers claim that the reason for the trial and the sentence was his refusals to prepare distorted judicial examinations, as well as his public criticism of his former colleagues.
