The General Prosecutor's Office of Kyrgyzstan reported on the inflated prices for fish purchased for prisoners in the State Service for the Execution of Sentences (GSIN).
The inspection conducted by the prosecutor's office concerned compliance with laws in institutions of the criminal-executive system and their state procurements.
As a result of the inspection, it was established that throughout 2025, responsible officials of GSIN conducted purchases of frozen fish at inflated prices to provide for the convicted individuals. This led to damage to the state amounting to 15.9 million soms.
A criminal case has been initiated regarding this incident under Article 337 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, concerning abuse of official authority. Currently, investigative actions are underway.
