On December 18, a cultural event titled "The Brush of Hope" took place at the Semen Chuykov Art Gallery, featuring artworks created by inmates in the institutions of the State Penitentiary Service. This information was provided by the press service of the SPS.

This event was the first of its kind in the history of the penal system. Representatives of public organizations, bloggers, and residents of Bishkek gathered for it. The exhibition attracted the attention of viewers, becoming a platform for discussing issues of humanism, support, and the importance of a second chance.

The "Brush of Hope" project became not only an exhibition but also a social event aimed at creating an objective view of the resocialization process of inmates and revealing their creative abilities. All the works presented were created by the inmates themselves and reflected their inner experiences, life stories, and aspirations for change.

As part of the event, presentations of artistic and applied works took place, as well as a charity sale of paintings to support inmates and their families. Additionally, an open dialogue was held about the significance of social adaptation and support for people in places of deprivation of liberty.

The exhibition featured 30 paintings, of which 23 were put up for sale. More than 15 works of art were sold within the first hour of the event's operation.
