The General Prosecutor's Office of the Kyrgyz Republic reported the purchase of fish for convicts in the GSIN at inadequate prices.
As part of an investigation conducted by the prosecutor's office, the purchases made by the State Penitentiary Service were examined.
It was found that during 2025, authorized personnel of this state service purchased frozen fish for the needs of prisoners at inflated prices. This led to damages amounting to 15.9 million soms.
A criminal investigation has been initiated in this case under Article 337 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, concerning abuse of official authority. Necessary investigative actions are currently being carried out.
