Audit at the National Statistics Committee revealed violations amounting to 18.8 million soms

As a result of an audit conducted by the Accounts Chamber of Kyrgyzstan in the National Statistical Committee for the period of 2023-2024, financial violations totaling 18.8 million soms were discovered. This was reported by the press service of the Accounts Chamber.
Of the identified violations, 8.4 million soms are subject to recovery. During the inspection, the National Statistical Committee already returned 176.9 thousand soms to the state budget.
The most significant violation, amounting to 9.4 million soms, is related to compensation payments to families participating in voluntary studies. Each household received 200 soms monthly, while the expenses were incorrectly classified as "Salaries." According to the current budget legislation, these funds should have been categorized as "Social Assistance to the Population."
As a result of the audit, instructions were given to correct the violations, return the funds to the budget, and organize proper accounting of expenses. The management of the National Statistical Committee was recommended to strengthen internal control and comply with legislative requirements in document flow.
