“Catching pike in the autumn is a real pleasure. At this time, they become especially active, eagerly grabbing all possible lures. Although you can catch them on a spinner or jig head, live bait is preferred. Such specimens can weigh up to one kilogram, while we always return the smaller pikes back to the water,” he noted.
Radchenko also shared his unusual find: “Once I caught a pike weighing 2 kilograms, and while cleaning it, I discovered another pike inside, weighing about 500 grams.” According to him, pikes are cannibals and often eat each other.
He emphasized that pike in Kyrgyzstan is found exclusively in the water bodies of the Chui region.
“The 'pike hunting' season will last until the water bodies are covered with ice,” Radchenko added.
