The Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) of Kyrgyzstan has reported a risk of avalanches in the mountainous areas. The agency warns that from November 5 to 7, precipitation is expected in the area of the Chon-Ashuu pass (74–90 km of the Karakol — Enilchek road), which may lead to snow avalanches and snowdrifts.
Rescue services remind that the road surface may become dangerously slippery, and ice patches are possible in some areas. Drivers are advised to maintain a distance of 500 meters between vehicles, as movement in the specified areas may be restricted.
The MES recommends that motorists replace summer tires with winter ones and carry a supply of water, food, a first aid kit, a shovel, and tire chains. In case of no extreme necessity, it is better to refrain from traveling to mountainous areas.
In an emergency, you can call the round-the-clock number 112, the call is free.
