Recently, the Main Department of Road Safety of the Ministry of Internal Affairs conducted a preventive campaign, during which drivers were reminded of the existing ban on the installation of additional LED headlights and other lighting devices without prior approval from the competent authorities. This was reported by the agency's press service.

Complaints have repeatedly been received from motorists traveling along the Bishkek - Osh highway. They note that bright LED headlights blind other road users, which can lead to emergency situations.

For this purpose, inspectors during the raid reminded about the requirements of Article 194 "Operation of a vehicle modified without appropriate approval" of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Inspectors explained to drivers that liability may arise not only for the use but also for the installation of such lighting devices.

“Young drivers, you think you won’t be noticed. You spend money on bulbs and change them. But you know that ‘chandeliers’ and LED headlights are prohibited. Previously, fines were imposed for use, and now – for installation. It doesn’t matter if they work or not. If installed – your car will be sent to the impound lot,” noted a representative of the Main Department of Road Safety.

The agency urged drivers to comply with legislative norms to avoid creating danger for other road users.
