The opening ceremony was attended by the akim of the Tyup district, Timur Madyarov, and the head of the Karkyra rural administration, Rustam Cherikbaev. The event was accompanied by cultural performances.
Local residents noted that during Soviet times, Taldy-Suu was an administrative center and was actively developing. “After the collapse of the Union, our status changed, and development slowed down. But now, as our village is being revived, the new square has become a favorite place for relaxation for locals and visiting guests. It will be important to keep this area in good condition: not to damage the benches and not to litter,” the villagers shared.
The construction of the recreation area began in May 2025.
According to the rural administration, with the support of the Presidential Administration, paving tiles were laid and a two-sided fence was installed on an area of 1.5 hectares, as well as new streetlights; the territory is under round-the-clock video surveillance.
Head of the rural administration Rustam Cherikbaev noted that similar work is being carried out in other settlements of the rural district. “Our district includes 11 villages, and Taldy-Suu is one of the largest, with a population of over 5,000 people. Previously, there were important trade and medical institutions here. With the revival of tourism, we decided to create comfortable conditions for the recreation of local residents and guests, choosing this area for the square. Previously, it was just a pasture. At the opening, to create a festive atmosphere, we provided lighting using a generator. We plan to develop infrastructure in other villages as well,” he added.
As part of the project, the square area has been landscaped, and flowers have been planted. Three modern bus stops have been installed on the main street. In the future, the installation of reflective traffic signals for road safety is also planned.
Akim of the district Timur Madyarov added that this year a new factory was opened in the Karkyra rural district, in addition to social facilities. “The opening of the recreation area is a significant achievement. We are considering the possibility of allocating funds for the installation of reflective signs,” he reported.
