During the semifinals, he performed the composition "Eternity" by Alexander Panayotov, for which he received 95 points.
Three participants advanced to the final based on voting, while Aibek Bakytbekov and Varvara Stupina faced off in a battle, each presenting a new song. As a result, Stupina, scoring 100 points, secured the position of the fourth finalist, while Bakytbekov received 82 points.
Later, Aibek Bakytbekov and Nadezhda Samkova were added to the final part.
“Today our Aibek demonstrated true will to win; despite illnesses and difficulties with his voice, he performed magnificently,” noted the head of the jury, Sergey Lazarev.
