A comic about Superman found by chance in the attic was sold for $9 million
In the United States, two brothers discovered one of the first Superman comics in the attic of their late mother's house, which was sold at auction for a record $9.12 million. This copy became the most expensive comic ever auctioned, according to NBC News.

The 1939 comic was found in 2024 under old newspapers in a cardboard box covered in dust. An appraisal rated its condition at 9 out of 10, surpassing the previous record of 8.5.

Previously, the title of the most expensive comic sold at auction belonged to a 1938 issue featuring Superman's debut, which sold for a full $3 million less.
