British police seized dinosaur skeletons worth 15 million dollars from a Chinese man suspected of a large money laundering scheme

The skeletons, which are between 145 and 157 million years old, include a female Allosaurus with a baby and a Stegosaurus. These fossils were purchased at a Christie’s auction in 2024. Additionally, eleven Chinese artifacts bought at a Sotheby’s auction were also confiscated.

Su Binhai was previously wanted in connection with a money laundering case in Singapore. However, after reaching an asset forfeiture agreement in favor of the state, Singaporean authorities withdrew their Interpol request for his arrest.
The money laundering case caused a significant stir in Singapore: as a result of the scandal, two bankers were convicted and sent to prison. During the investigation, assets worth 2.3 billion dollars were confiscated, including cash, real estate, and cryptocurrency. Ten individuals of Chinese descent, accused of laundering money obtained from overseas gambling companies and other criminal activities, were also imprisoned.
