According to circus representatives, Boris and Vasily are true friends. They were always together: eating, sleeping, and living in the same enclosure, which made their separation impossible. The new owner acquired them as a gift for the Karakol Zoo for his friend. In addition to these two animals, two camels named Sultan Fedya and Shams, a pet goat named Maya, and four cats — Semyon, Fars, Thomas, and Red Cat — also found new owners at the auction. However, two yaks remained unsold as the bidders did not show up.
As circus staff explained, the sale of the animals was a necessary measure due to high maintenance costs and the recent dismissal of the trainer who cared for them. They noted that such auctions help not only to relieve the circus but also to find caring homes for the animals.
“Boris and Vasily left together, just as they have lived all this time. We are happy that they will remain friends and will bring joy to children in another city,” the Bishkek Circus added.
