



In Kyrgyzstan, employees of the State Committee for National Security detained human rights defender N.D.M., who was extorting 50 thousand US dollars. This money was demanded to resolve an issue related to a criminal case currently under investigation by law enforcement agencies.
According to available information, N.D.M., acting by proxy, represented the interests of the victim in various state structures. Under the pretext of securing the release of a detainee in the case, he, citing agreements with high-ranking officials from the Ministry of Internal Affairs' Investigation Service of the Kyrgyz Republic, extorted the specified amount.
The detention occurred on September 17, 2025, when N.D.M. was caught with 20 thousand US dollars. As a result of investigative actions, he was placed in facility No. 23 of the State Penitentiary Service.
The investigation is currently ongoing, during which the possible involvement of employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs' Investigation Service of the Kyrgyz Republic in this extortion case is being checked.
