A Kyrgyz woman recently raised the issue of 12-year education with Kamchybek Tashiev
A video message from the mother of a first grader has appeared online, in which she expresses her concerns about the 12-year education system. The woman addressed Kamchybek Tashiev, pointing out the difficulties faced by parents of schoolchildren.
The Ministry of Education provided a response to these remarks.
“The educational programs are designed taking into account the age characteristics and psychological features of children. Materials are introduced gradually, starting with simple concepts and moving to more complex ones. In the first grade, the main method of teaching is play. The second-grade program is built on the knowledge acquired by children in the preparatory courses 'Narisete', which corresponds to the level of seven-year-old students. We have carefully thought out the structure of education to avoid overloading the children,” the ministry explained.
Additionally, the Ministry of Education noted that teachers will regularly improve their qualifications in accordance with the new educational model.
“Teacher training is ongoing. Teachers undergo training during the summer and autumn periods, as well as throughout the academic year. The Ministry of Education, the Kyrgyz Academy of Education, and the Republican Institute for the Advanced Training of Educational Workers systematically organize seminars and provide methodological support for teachers, offering them professional materials and recommendations,” the agency added.
Training of teaching staff in universities remains under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation.
“This task is significant for many countries, and we are consistently working on its solution. The transition to updated 12-year educational programs will be carried out with all measures taken to create comfortable conditions for children, clear for teachers, and calm for parents,” the ministry responded to parents' criticism.
