Free education can be obtained at railway universities in Russia
The railways, stretching over 100,000 kilometers, connect all corners of Russia, making them the most important means of transportation in the country. Given the economic growth of Kyrgyzstan, the development of the transport sector is becoming increasingly relevant, and in this context, trained specialists are needed. This is why Russian railway universities represent a significant career path for the youth of Kyrgyzstan.
For the 2026/27 academic year, the Russian government has allocated 700 quotas for Kyrgyz students who will be able to study on a budgetary basis. Of this number, 9 places are reserved for study at the universities of the Russian Railways (RZD). Available programs include bachelor's and specialist degrees for school graduates, as well as master's programs for those who have already completed higher education.
Kyrgyz candidates can choose to study at the Ural State University of Transport. For school students, bachelor's programs are available, such as "Information Systems and Technologies," "Technosphere Safety," as well as specializations: "Rolling Stock of Railways," "Operation of Railways," "Train Movement Control Systems," and "Construction of Railways, Bridges, and Transport Tunnels." University graduates can continue their studies in master's programs, including "Information Systems and Technologies," "Power Engineering and Electrical Engineering," and "Transport Process Technology."
Studying on a budgetary basis is completely free for students, which includes a scholarship and the possibility of accommodation in a dormitory.
One of the key advantages of the quota admission is the opportunity to enroll in Russian universities without leaving Kyrgyzstan. All stages of document submission and entrance examinations are conducted online.
Documents are accepted until December 15, 2025. Applications can be submitted through the website https://education-in-russia.com, where information about universities, educational programs, and cities is also available.
Additional information about admission to Russian universities for citizens of Kyrgyzstan can be found on the website of the Russian House in Bishkek: https://uchebarf.kg and on the social media pages of the Russian Houses in Bishkek and Osh: https://taplink.cc/rushouse_bishkek.
Every week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, free consultations for those wishing to study in Russia are held at the Russian House in Bishkek (Erkindik Blvd, 2/1), starting at 16:00. Admission is free, and prior registration is not required. For online consultations, the link is available: https://my.mts-link.ru/j/82442073/4512849842/stream-new/4407169885.
