As environmental specialist Alexander Sosnovsky explained, the grayling belongs to the salmon family. It is widely distributed in the rivers and lakes of Europe, Northern Asia, and America. There are over 40 species of grayling in the world, and they are all difficult to distinguish from one another, but all species prefer clean and cold waters of rivers and lakes. "The dense white flesh of the grayling has a rich aroma and delicate taste, and it cooks quickly. Grayling can be stuffed, stewed, fried, salted, or dried," the specialist said.
Lake Ara-Köl is a high-altitude lake located in the Kochkor district of the Naryn region, famous for its crystal-clear waters and picturesque winter landscapes. The thick ice on the lake creates excellent conditions for ice skating, and its natural beauty makes it a popular spot for day trips from Bishkek. The lake is situated at an altitude of 1700 meters above sea level. It is 11 kilometers long, 5 kilometers wide, and has a depth of up to 47 meters. In winter, the lake completely freezes, and the ice thickness can reach 60 centimeters.
