Diving at Lake Kara-Suu

Geographical Information: Lake Kara-Suu is located in the area of the Taktalyk ridge, at the lower reaches of the Kapka-Tash river, at an altitude of 2000m above sea level. The length of the lake is about 6.5 km, width is 1.5 - 2 km, and the average depth of the lake is 90m.

The steep shores of the lake are covered with Tien Shan fir, juniper, rowan, barberry, and other shrubs.

Climatic Conditions: The climate at Lake Kara-Suu is warm, dry, and moderate. Air temperature in summer ranges from 22-26 degrees during the day and 8-14 degrees at night. The wind regime is moderate. Winters are snowy and frosty.

Water Temperature at the surface in summer reaches 17-19 degrees. A thermocline begins at a depth of 14-16m. The constant temperature starting from a depth of 25m is 5-6 degrees. Ice formation occurs every winter across the entire lake.

Diving at Lake Kara-Suu is possible. There is a good dirt road leading to the lake. Access to the water is good. Visibility is 8-12m. The lake is rich in fish (whitefish and marinka). The underwater plant life is sparse. Underwater, you can see rocky walls and schools of fish.
