Diving at Sonkul

Diving at Song-Kul is possible. There is a normal dirt road leading to the lake. Access to the shore is available almost all around the perimeter of the lake. The lake is interesting for diving because it is located over 3000 meters above sea level. This is already extreme diving. At such a height, breathing is different, and even a simple walk around the area is not easy. Moreover, we were the only ones who dived at Song-Kul with our expedition. This means that the body of water is completely unexplored and holds many secrets.

The bottom relief is quite uniform. The bottom is rocky and covered with algae. There used to be a lot of fish in Song-Kul, but now fish are rarely encountered underwater.
