Diving at Sary-Chelek

Diving at Sary-Chelek is quite interesting. Good visibility, reaching 22 meters, allows you to fully enjoy the surrounding landscapes. The shores of the lake are rocky and steep, with sheer rock walls, rocky peaks, small grottos, and terraces all abundantly present in the lake. In several places underwater, a submerged forest has been preserved, where many fallen trees have been washed in by the current over the years.

It has turned into a real tangle of branches. Schools of fish (Marinka) are constantly encountered underwater. However, they only allow you to approach them at a distance of 6 to 10 meters; they do not come closer. Specimens up to 5 kg can be found. So far, only two diving trips have been made to Sary-Chelek. Therefore, from a diving perspective, the lake is almost unexplored. The lake hides many more interesting spots for diving. Near Sary-Chelek, there are several other small lakes. One of them is of interest for diving. It is smaller than Sary-Chelek and not as deep, but it is very beautiful underwater. The bizarre shapes of the bottom, the variety of algae, and the abundance of large fish make diving there interesting and exciting. For lovers of underwater hunting, this lake is a real find. The fish are not scared and allow you to approach within arm's reach.
