High school students of school No. 61 in Bishkek are temporarily studying in an online format. This information was reported by the parents of the students.

According to them, there has been no electricity in the senior building of the institution for the fourth day. Some parents suggested that damage to the engineering networks could have occurred as a result of construction work. There are indeed active earthworks and excavation for a new multi-story building on the neighboring site.

The education department confirmed that the senior classes have indeed been transferred to remote learning.

As explained by the department, "due to an emergency situation on the power transmission line located on Abay Street, the senior students of school No. 61 have temporarily switched to online learning until the power supply is fully restored. Meanwhile, the building where the elementary school children study continues to operate as usual. Emergency crews have already begun addressing the malfunctions," the agency added.
