In Kyrgyzstan, there is a significant increase in the incidence of acute respiratory viral infections and influenza. As a result of these changes, 214 kindergartens have been temporarily closed for quarantine, and 207 schools have switched to online learning. These measures were announced by the Ministry of Education.

The Ministry of Health and the Department of Disease Prevention, as well as the State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance, are monitoring the situation and strengthening preventive measures.

“According to the instructions of the sanitary and epidemiological service, schools can switch to remote learning without the need to obtain a separate permission from the Ministry of Education. It is sufficient to notify the ministry,” the agency clarified.

Last week, more than 36,000 cases of ARVI and influenza were recorded in the republic, with over 70% of the infected being children under 14 years old.

Specialists remind that quarantine measures in educational institutions are introduced based on the level of student absenteeism due to illness and are implemented locally.
