On December 2, 2025, a meeting of the operational headquarters was held at the building of the Department of State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance, where the epidemiological situation related to ARVI and influenza in the country was discussed. As a result of the meeting, it was decided to strengthen preventive measures and monitoring in educational institutions, as well as to enhance public awareness about ways to prevent diseases.

Members of the operational headquarters recommended that the Interdistrict Centers for State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance intensify preventive activities not only in educational institutions such as kindergartens and schools but also in shopping centers, especially those with children's play areas. If high rates of illness persist, the possibility of introducing temporary restrictions and quarantine measures in places where children gather should be discussed.
Dinara Otorbaeva, head of the Department for Surveillance of Infectious Diseases at the State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance, reported that the epidemiological situation is under constant monitoring. During the 48th week (from November 24 to 30, 2025), 37,068 cases of ARVI and influenza were registered in the republic, which is 2.5 times more than the previous week. Among the sick, 73% are children under 14 years old, and 5% of the total number have been hospitalized. The highest number of cases is observed in Bishkek, Osh, as well as in Batken and Chui regions.
Due to the increase in the number of cases in Bishkek, about 25 preschool institutions were temporarily closed, around 40 in Chui region, and five schools in Osh region switched to remote learning. Sanitary recommendations were prepared for the heads of various organizations, and letters were sent to district administrations and relevant ministries, including the Ministry of Education and the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kyrgyzstan. Large shopping centers and cultural and educational institutions also received notifications about the need to enhance control over preventive measures. In regions with a more stable epidemiological situation, strengthening preventive measures to prevent the spread of the disease was instructed.
Additional quarantine measures have been implemented in healthcare institutions: a mandatory mask regime has been introduced, visits to hospitals by patients' relatives have been restricted, informational materials on flu prevention have been posted, and regular disinfection and bactericidal treatment of premises are being conducted.
The Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic emphasizes that the specialists of the Centers for State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance are taking all necessary steps to contain the spread of ARVI and influenza. The situation is monitored around the clock, and the public will be promptly informed about further decisions and recommendations.
