In light of the increasing incidence of ARVI and influenza, the chief physician of the Republican Clinical Infectious Diseases Hospital (RCIDH), Gulzhigit Aaliev, recommends that parents avoid taking their children to closed play areas in shopping centers. This information was disseminated by the Republican Center for Health Promotion.

The doctor also warns against sending children to educational institutions and kindergartens upon noticing the first symptoms, such as high fever, runny nose, or general malaise.

Moreover, he points out that self-medication, especially with the use of antibiotics, can be dangerous. At the first signs of illness, one should promptly consult family medicine centers for examination and necessary treatment.

According to the Department of Disease Prevention and State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance, from November 17 to 23, the republic registered 13,054 cases of ARVI and influenza, which exceeds the figures of the previous week by 1.6 times. Of the total number of cases, 69.4% are children under 14 years old (9,055 cases).

Laboratory studies show that among the circulating viruses, influenza A/H3N2 (Hong Kong flu) predominates at a level of 91.3%, while influenza B viruses account for 3.8%, and COVID-19 for 4.8%. There is also a spread of acute respiratory viral infections: rhinovirus (28.9%), adenovirus (24.4%), parainfluenza I-IV (20%), RSV (6.7%), and others (20%).

The working hours of family medicine centers on weekdays have been extended until 8:00 PM.
