In the 47th week of 2025, the Chui region is experiencing an excess of the epidemic threshold for acute respiratory viral infections (ARVI) by 24.3%. This is reported by the Issyk-Ata Interdistrict Center for Disease Prevention and State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance.

According to the center, an increase in the number of medical consultations is being recorded among both children and adults.

The laboratory received 15 samples for influenza testing from patients with ARVI, of which 9 samples tested positive for the H3N2 virus, known as "Hong Kong flu." Experts warn of the high transmission rate of this strain and urge the population to adhere to precautionary measures.

Daily monitoring of the situation in schools and kindergartens has been organized in educational institutions in the region. If the epidemiological situation worsens, quarantine measures may be implemented. Restrictions for visitors have been introduced in medical institutions, and filters have been established at the entrance.

Citizens are strongly advised to follow personal hygiene rules, avoid large gatherings of people, and call a doctor at home if symptoms of influenza or ARVI appear, rather than self-medicating. Specialists emphasize that timely medical assistance can prevent serious complications.

The Hong Kong flu (H3N2) is a subtype of the influenza A virus, first identified in Hong Kong in 1968. It is characterized by high contagiousness and rapid spread, especially among children and the elderly. The H3N2 strain often causes seasonal influenza epidemics and can lead to more severe disease progression compared to other types of the virus.

Symptoms of the Hong Kong flu include high fever, pronounced weakness, muscle aches, cough, and respiratory complications. Doctors recommend vaccination, adherence to hygiene standards, and minimizing contacts during the epidemic rise.
