At the Republican Clinical Infectious Disease Hospital, there is a shortage of doctors in the emergency department, which complicates its operation. Chief Physician Gulzhigit Aaliev reported this situation, noting that during the day there are five doctors on duty, while in the evening there are only three.

“Recently, one medic from the capital's Family Medicine Center was redirected to us. We also have two on-call doctors in reserve in case the number of patients increases. The emergency department is supposed to have 22 doctors, but currently, only 15 are working,” Aaliev said.

Nevertheless, he emphasized that patients do not wait for help for four to five hours. Severe cases are prioritized, such as patients who are unconscious, with brain swelling, seizures, and high fever, who arrive via ambulance.

Some patients create conflicts in the queue, which hinders the work of the medical staff. Yesterday, three such incidents were recorded, where people argued both among themselves and with the doctors.

“Due to the conflicts that arose, our staff had to call the police to resolve the situation,” he added.

The chief physician urged citizens to adhere to sanitary norms, avoid crowded places such as playgrounds, cinemas, and entertainment venues. If symptoms of illness appear, it is necessary to seek medical help rather than engage in self-treatment.

Yesterday, 421 patients visited the hospital, of which 163 were hospitalized. This means that about 60% of people came for consultations, although they could have obtained the necessary information at the Family Medicine Center. Clinics operate until 8:00 PM, however, people prefer to go to the infectious disease hospital, and we hospitalize everyone who has indications,” the chief physician emphasized.

Currently, there are 587 patients in the infectious disease hospital, of which 433 have ARVI. Nine people are in intensive care, and some of the hospitalized patients are located in the corridors.

The hospital is generally designed for 500 beds.
The health minister previously instructed to open additional facilities in the infectious disease hospital to accommodate patients in order to reduce queues and avoid crowding.

Complaints about long queues in medical institutions regularly appear on social media.
