In the Batken region, there is an increase in cases of ARVI and influenza, with children under 14 years old being the most affected. This was reported by Asel Koshbaeva, the chief physician of the Batken Interdistrict Center for Disease Prevention and State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance.

Koshbaeva noted that comparing data for the 10 months of 2024 and 2025, there were 18,345 cases registered in 2024, while for the same period in 2025, there were already 23,066 cases. This is an increase of 4,123 cases.

From November 1 to 21 of the current year, 3,185 cases of illness were recorded, with only 146 patients requiring hospitalization. Children aged 0 to 14 years make up 73% of all those infected. The Leilek and Kadamjai districts show the highest rates of morbidity.

Despite the rise in cases, most patients receive outpatient treatment and experience the illness in a mild form. A total of 264 people underwent inpatient treatment — a relatively low level. There are enough beds in medical institutions, and additional places will be opened if necessary. A mask regime has been implemented in all medical facilities.

Due to the high level of morbidity among children, Asel Koshbaeva recommended that schools temporarily suspend mass events.

She also added that patients can register for appointments at medical institutions through the electronic queue system.
