In Bishkek, due to the increase in the number of cases of acute respiratory viral infections and influenza, a decision has been made to close about ten kindergartens for quarantine. This was reported by the press service of the Department of Disease Prevention and State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance.

According to specialists, the quarantine is being implemented at the local level depending on the attendance of children and will last for ten days.

The decision to close kindergartens or switch to online learning for schoolchildren is made if more than 20% of children are absent specifically due to ARVI.

As for schoolchildren in Bishkek, their illness rate is currently not specified, as from November 25 to December 1, they are studying in an online format due to the visit of the President of Russia to Kyrgyzstan and the upcoming CSTO summit, as well as the elections to the Jogorku Kenesh.

In other regions of the country, according to the State Department of Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance, in some schools in the Batken region, 3-4 classes have switched to online learning due to the rise in ARVI cases.

Overall, the epidemiological situation in the republic remains stable.

It should be noted that in Kyrgyzstan, from November 17 to 23, 13,054 cases of ARVI and influenza were registered, which is 60% more compared to the previous week. Of these, 69.4% are children under 14 years old (9,055 cases).

The doctor also clarified the differences between ARVI, influenza, and COVID-19.
