The Ministry of Health reports that epidemiologists are strongly urging the introduction of temporary restrictions and quarantine measures in places where children gather in large numbers, in the event of continued growth in the number of cases of ARVI and influenza.

On December 2, a meeting of the operational headquarters was held at the State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance Department, where the current epidemiological situation in the republic was discussed.

As a result of the discussions, a decision was made on the necessity of strengthening preventive measures and monitoring in educational institutions, as well as increasing public awareness regarding preventive measures. The operational headquarters recommended that the Interdistrict Centers for State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance intensify their work on prevention not only in schools and kindergartens but also in shopping centers, especially those with children's play areas. If the high level of morbidity persists, temporary restrictions and quarantine measures will be considered in places where children gather.

Dinara Otorbaeva, head of the Department for Surveillance of Infectious Diseases at the State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance Service, reported that the epidemiological situation is under strict control. In the 48th week (from November 24 to November 30, 2025), 37,068 cases of ARVI and influenza were registered in the republic, which is 2.5 times higher than the figures from the previous week. Of the total number of cases, 73% are children under 14 years old, with 5% of them hospitalized. The highest number of cases is observed in Bishkek and Osh, as well as in the Batken and Chui regions.

Due to the increase in morbidity in Bishkek, about 25 preschool institutions have been temporarily closed, around 40 in the Chui region, and five schools in the Osh region have switched to distance learning. Sanitary directives have been prepared for the heads of various organizations and institutions, and letters have been sent to district administrations and relevant ministries, including the Ministry of Education and the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kyrgyzstan. Major shopping centers, educational, and cultural institutions have also been notified of the need to strengthen control over compliance with preventive measures. In regions where the situation is stable, it has been instructed to intensify preventive work to prevent the spread of the disease.

Additional quarantine measures have been introduced in healthcare institutions: mandatory mask-wearing, restrictions on visits to hospitals by relatives, placement of informational materials on influenza prevention, as well as regular disinfection and bactericidal treatment of premises.
