In the capital's medical institutions of Bishkek, there is a decrease in the number of visits and hospitalizations due to ARVI and influenza, as reported by the Ministry of Health.

The agency is monitoring the epidemiological situation amid the seasonal rise in morbidity. Daily changes in the number of visits are considered normal for this time of year, and final conclusions about the dynamics will be made based on the analysis of weekly data.

Information from the Ministry of Health about hospitals:

Republican Clinical Infectious Diseases Hospital

At the RCIDH, a reduction in the number of visits and hospitalizations has been recorded compared to the beginning of the current week. The bed capacity continues to remain at a high level of occupancy: currently, 500 beds are actively functioning, with the actual number of occupied places ranging from 565 to 573 patients.

The number of severe cases has decreased: there are 6 patients in intensive care (previously there were 10). Patient flows with ARVI and pneumonia are still being served in an intensified mode.

City Children's Clinical Emergency Medical Hospital

The City Children's Clinical Emergency Medical Hospital is accepting children with seasonal respiratory diseases around the clock.

In the repurposed departments, 421 beds have been set up, of which 378 are occupied. There is a slight decrease in the number of visits and hospitalizations. The greatest load is experienced by the general somatics, ENT, and surgery/pulmonology departments.

The majority of patients come from primary medical care organizations in Bishkek and the Chui region.

The Ministry of Health continues round-the-clock monitoring of the epidemiological situation, strengthens the work of the outpatient sector, maintains an expanded bed capacity, and promptly routes patients between medical institutions.

Recommendations from the Ministry of Health:

• at the first signs of ARVI, contact a family doctor;

• in case of high fever, shortness of breath, pronounced weakness in children, or refusal to drink — seek medical help immediately;

• follow preventive measures: wear masks in crowded places, wash hands regularly, limit contacts if symptoms of illness are present;

• get vaccinated against influenza, which remains the most effective protective measure during the season.

“The epidemic situation in Bishkek is under constant control of the Ministry of Health. Medical organizations are operating in a state of heightened readiness, and the population will be informed as new data becomes available,” the official release states.
