At OJSC "Kyrgyz Post", a ceremony was held to award the winners of the contest related to letters to Santa Claus. The contest, held under the slogan "The Country of My Dreams. Why Do I Want to Visit There?", was aimed at schoolchildren aged 9 to 14 and attracted over three thousand participants from various regions of the country. Participants sent their letters through post offices using registered mail.
Valuable gifts such as tablets and mobile phones were awarded to the winners, along with consolation prizes including headphones, smartwatches, and other pleasant surprises.
"From November to mid-December, the contest included qualifying stages. The commission, formed in accordance with the order of the joint-stock company, received many applications. Unfortunately, some letters were borrowed from the internet, but we selected those who wrote them independently and managed to convey the assigned theme," noted Uulzhan Masiyaanova, Deputy General Director of OJSC "Kyrgyz Post".
Dilnura Sharshenbekova, one of the contest participants, shared that she learned about the contest from her Russian language teacher, and the information came too late – just a day before the letters were to be sent, and no one helped her with the writing.
"The teacher inspired us and explained the task. I wrote about Malaysia, about my admiration for this country and how I dream of studying there, choosing a profession in the field of tourism or hospitality," she shared.
"I learned about the contest from my Russian and Kyrgyz language teachers. I was interested in participating because I wanted to express my imagination. My essay was about Japan, which attracts me with its culture, beauty, and traditions. I would like my family to see this country and its culture," added another participant, Ayana Ismailova.
She expressed her desire to show Japan to her family in the future so they could enjoy its culture and cuisine.
It is important to note that this contest contributed to the development of children's creative abilities, the popularization of the epistolary genre, and the formation of interest in postal culture.
