Young Scientists of Kyrgyzstan Awarded "Akyly Terek" Prizes

Young scientists of Kyrgyzstan awarded the 'Akyl Tirek' prizes
On December 3, a solemn award ceremony for the winners of the international competition "Akyl Tirek" was held in Bishkek, conducted among young scientists and researchers.

The "Akyl Tirek" competition was held as part of the "Ideological Map of Kyrgyzstan" project and identified the authors of the best research works in areas such as economics, public administration, social projects, and scientific and technical developments.

A total of 85 scientific works were submitted in the four aforementioned areas. A preliminary review was conducted on 68 of these works. From these, an expert commission composed of several authoritative scientists identified seven best works.

The best works included a group project led by Shairkul Batyrbaeva on the application of 3D modeling in the study of medieval architecture in Kyrgyzstan; and a study by Ulugbek Begaliev on increasing the seismic resistance of buildings using layered elastomeric structures.

Savetbek Abdrasulov received the main prize for his research on the phenomenon of the storyteller, while Amangeldy Bekbalaev was awarded for his book "The Hunnic-Kyrgyz Khan Attila." Dastan Kadyrov was honored with the "Akyl Tirek" prize for his contribution to work on preferential taxation, and Shamil Atakhanov distinguished himself in studying the problem of optimizing pension provision in Kyrgyzstan. Finally, Jumagul Baydildeev was awarded the "Akyl Tirek" statuette for his contribution to historical science.

– The head of the Foundation for Progressive Initiatives, Askar Salymbekov, supported me in my historical research and the publication of a book about Attila, – said News-Asia winner Amandeldy Bekbalaev. – Awards like "Akyl Tirek" are very important for the development of Kyrgyz science. There are currently no analogs to such an award. I remember that during the Soviet era, there was the Lenin Komsomol Prize. Such competitions provide youth with the motivation to work, labor, and conduct scientific research. Not everyone in Kyrgyzstan is engaged in business and reselling. There are still young people who are pursuing science. They need all possible support.

All seven winners of the competition were awarded cash prizes, statuettes, diplomas, and the book "Akyl Tirek," which immortalizes the names of outstanding figures of Kyrgyzstan. As noted by the Foundation for Progressive Initiatives, the personalities featured in this publication exemplify the successful realization of the intellectual potential of our citizens and serve as an example for future generations.

It should also be noted that 45 nominees for the competition, nominated from among young employees, graduate students, and doctoral candidates from universities across Kyrgyzstan, received encouragement awards.
As the founder of the Foundation for Progressive Initiatives, public figure, and philanthropist Askar Salymbekov noted, science determines the development of the economy and new technologies.
- Scientific and technological progress and science should not be sidelined. We see how developed countries are advancing in this area, and to ensure that Kyrgyzstan does not lag behind, we encourage and motivate young scientists and seasoned researchers, - said Salymbekov.

The "Fund for Progressive Initiatives" has been conducting the World Competition of Kyrgyzstani citizens "Akyl Tirek" for three years now. This competition has become an annual tradition for all participants, the scientific community, and all interested citizens of our republic. The "Akyl Tirek" prize is one of the first awards in the field of strategic research and innovations in the history of modern Kyrgyzstan and all of Central Asia, providing an opportunity for further promotion of unique works and their authors.
