Weir was 78 years old. He was one of the key members of the band, which was founded in 1965, and played with them until his death. The cause of his passing was cancer.
Grateful Dead had a significant influence on rock music, blending elements of folk and psychedelia, and had a huge number of fans in the USA. The band ceased to exist after the death of its leader Jerry Garcia in 1995.
Despite his illness, Bob continued to perform until 2025. In July, the musician was diagnosed with cancer, but he did not stop his performances even during treatment, as stated on his official website.
