On January 14, a presentation of the new players of the football club "Toktogul" took place in Bishkek, which is debuting in the Kyrgyzstan Premier League this season.
The team has been joined by 33-year-old defender of the Georgian national team Solomon Kvirkvelia, as well as Kyrgyz striker Eldar Moldozhunusov.
Kvirkvelia is known for his extensive international experience, having played for several prestigious clubs. His career includes matches for Kazan's "Rubin" (87 matches), Moscow's "Lokomotiv" (80 matches), Ukraine's "Metalist" (6 matches), Azerbaijan's "Neftchi" (33 matches), and Saudi Arabia's "Al-Uhdud" (33 matches). His last club was the Georgian "Torpedo," where he played 18 matches and scored 2 goals.
With Kvirkvelia, "Lokomotiv" battled against stars such as Fernando Torres, and in the Saudi Arabian championship, he faced Cristiano Ronaldo and Roberto Firmino. Additionally, as part of the Georgian national team, he played against Wales and Germany, facing opponents like Gareth Bale, Marco Reus, and Thomas Müller.
In 2024, he also participated in the European Championship, where his team reached the Round of 16 after an impressive victory over Portugal with Cristiano Ronaldo in the lineup.
In the new season, Solomon Kvirkvelia will wear number 33, while Eldar Moldozhunusov will wear number 10. Kvirkvelia's experience and Moldozhunusov's attacking potential are expected to help the team start successfully in the Kyrgyzstan Premier League.
