The police are conducting an investigation; the parents sought help from healers.
In the Uzgen district of the Osh region, a one-and-a-half-month-old boy died, becoming a victim of the folk healing method known as hijama. The child was urgently hospitalized on the night of January 21, when his condition was critical: he was suffering from convulsions, severe bleeding, and post-hemorrhagic shock.
According to doctors, the baby's hemoglobin level was only 43–45, while the norm is considered to be 110–120. Unfortunately, despite all the efforts of the medical staff, they were unable to save him. The boy's parents had turned to folk healers, but it is unclear how long these procedures lasted.
In connection with this tragic event, law enforcement agencies have initiated an investigation. Specialists are trying to determine all the details of what happened and assess the actions of those who performed the hijama.
