
The conference titled "Health and Nutrition in a Changing Climate" took place in Ashgabat and gathered participants from various countries. The press service of the Ministry of Agriculture reported on the importance of topics related to food security and health, which are particularly relevant for Kyrgyzstan, as the country is exposed to climate risks.
Participants emphasized the need to implement the One Health concept, as well as the development of sustainable agri-food systems, which implies joint efforts from various sectors. Ways to strengthen regional cooperation in this area were also discussed.
Kyrgyzstan has significantly improved its regulatory framework concerning food security. A State program aimed at ensuring food security and improving the nutrition of the population is being implemented, with more than eighty percent of educational institutions already receiving hot meals.
Kyrgyzstan expressed its readiness to continue active cooperation with international partners to effectively respond to climate challenges and enhance the health and nutrition of the population.
