Saudi Arabia will allocate a $50 million loan for the construction of schools in the Kyrgyz Republic

As part of the II phase of the project, Saudi Arabia will provide a loan of $50 million for the construction of educational institutions in Bishkek and the Chui region. This was announced at a meeting of the committee on international affairs, defense, security, and migration, where the Deputy Minister of Construction, Architecture, and Housing and Communal Services of the Kyrgyz Republic, Samat Janteliyev, spoke. He reported on the signing of the Law "On the Ratification of the Loan Agreement between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Saudi Development Fund for the project 'Construction of Public Schools' Phase-2," which was formalized on October 9, 2025, in Bishkek.

According to the Deputy Minister, the allocated funds will be provided in US dollars for a period of 25 years. They will be directed towards the construction of five new schools and seven educational buildings in Bishkek, as well as the construction of two schools in the Chui region, each designed for 150 to 1,000 students.

The project is planned to start in 2026 and be completed in 2029, with two years allocated for construction and one year for the warranty period.

Samat Janteliyev also noted that the first phase of the project was successfully implemented. "The main goal of this agreement is to ensure equal access to quality education and improve social infrastructure through the construction of public schools," he added.
