Law enforcement agencies are already starting to issue protocols for violators
At a meeting of the parliamentary committee on law and order, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Oktobyr Urmambetov announced that house committees (domkomy) will have the opportunity to engage in the prevention of violations under the noise law.
Today, deputies discussed amendments to the Code of Offenses of the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as the bills "On the Basics of Crime Prevention" and "On Silence".
According to Urmambetov, it is planned to empower both law enforcement agencies and local self-government bodies, as well as managers of apartment buildings, to ensure compliance with legislation.
The Deputy Minister noted that the current legislation already includes provisions allowing for fines for violators. In particular, fines are set at 10,000 soms for individuals and 28,000 soms for legal entities. "We have three types of equipment for measuring noise levels. This year we received 62 complaints about noise from ventilation systems and 79 about noise from musical instruments. As a result, we compiled 30 protocols and imposed fines totaling 604,000 soms," added Urmambetov.
After the discussion, committee members unanimously supported the bill in the first reading.
