At the meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, Deputy Dastan Bekeshev reported that only 7.5 thousand taxi drivers out of 70 thousand working in Bishkek were able to obtain licenses. He emphasized that the deadline for issuing them expires in three days. According to Bekeshev, it is necessary to extend this deadline, as the number of licenses issued is very small.
The situation where so few taxi drivers have licenses could lead to an increase in passenger transport service prices and leave many without work.
In this regard, the parliamentarian proposed that the relevant committee of the Jogorku Kenesh consider the possibility of extending the license issuance period for taxi drivers.
